STILLWATER, Okla. – UMKC men’s tennis (4-2) fell 7-0 at No. 12 Oklahoma State (7-1) on Sunday at the Greenwood Tennis Center. The Cowboys won all six singles matches in straight sets and also claimed the doubles point.
In singles action, Airam Castellano (Gran Canaria, Spain) fell 6-3, 6-2 to Arjun Kadhe. Uldis Gaismins (Riga, Latvia) was defeated 6-1, 6-1 by Lucas Gerch on the No. 2 court. Amaury Navette (Paris, France) fell 6-0, 6-3 in No. 3 play. Tom Kruse (Flensburg, Germany) dropped a 6-0, 6-3 match to Tristan Meraut in the No. 4 slot. Vinh Pham (Lenexa, Kan.) was beaten 6-0, 6-3 by Mathieu Scaglia on the No. 5 court. Hunter Clark (Overland Park, Kan.) lost 6-0, 6-2 to Nathan Roper in the No. 6 matchup.
Jurence Mendoza and Gerch beat Gaismins and Navette 6-1 in the No. 1 doubles faceoff. Arjun Kadhe and Scaglia won 6-3 over Pham and Clark on the No. 3 doubles court. Kruse and Castellano were trailing Meraut and Roper 4-3 when the Cowboys clinched the doubles point.
The Roos will have a weekend off before returning to play in Lincoln, Nebraska, to face Omaha on Friday, Feb. 24 and Nebraska on Saturday, Feb. 25.
