(Kansas City, Mo.) – In her first season in the Blue & Gold, junior Madison Mosier garnered First Team All-WAC honors, while senior Taryn Miller and Sydney Crimmins each were named to the Second Team.
Mosier earns the accolade after finishing the regular season with a .313 hitting percentage that ranks as the fifth best mark in a season and the best mark overall in UMKC history and as the eighth best percentage in the WAC this season. Her .346 number in WAC play, meanwhile, is the sixth best total, while her 3.07 kills per set is seventh during conference action.
Miller makes her third appearance on an All-WAC squad after garnering Second Team recognition as a sophomore and First Team honors a season ago. This season, Miller has extended her lead in the UMKC record books for career digs, while sliding into fifth place all-time in the WAC. Overall, her 5.04 digs per set are tops in the conference and 29th in the NCAA.
Like Miller, Crimmins is being recognized for the third time as an All-WAC performer, as she was named to the Second Team in 2013 and the First Team in 2014. This year, Crimmins has the fifth best hitting percentage, the eighth most points and the 10th most blocks in the WAC. At UMKC she now sits in the top-10 all-time in kills, hitting percentage and block assists and just outside the top-10 in digs. Her .329 hitting percentage this season, meanwhile, is the third best mark in school history.
The Blue & Gold open the WAC Tournament tomorrow as the No. 5 seed where they will square-off with No. 4 seed Seattle at 7:30 p.m. in quarterfinal action with the winner advancing to face No. 1 seed New Mexico State.
