‘Roos Picked Eighth By Media, Ninth By Coaches in WAC Preseason Poll

(Las, Vegas, Nev.) – The Kansas City men’s basketball squad will have something to prove in 2013-14 as the WAC media and coaches selected the ‘Roos eighth and ninth, respectively. The polls were released Tuesday at the annual WAC Basketball Preview in Las Vegas, Nevada at Orleans Arena, the site of the 2014 WAC Basketball Tournament.

Defending WAC tournament champion New Mexico State was the unanimous pick to win the league in both polls, while Aggies junior guard Daniel Mullings was selected as the Preseason Player of the Year by both the coaches and media.

Kansas City received 79 points and was picked just ahead of Grand Canyon in the media poll, while receiving 17 points in the coaches poll, two points behind the ‘Lopes. UMKC did not have any student-athletes selected to the preseason all-conference teams.
