(Kansas City, Mo.) – UMKC Head Men’s Basketball Coach Kareem Richardson will participate in the sixth annual Coaches vs. Cancer Season Tipoff Reception at the home of the ‘Roos, Municipal Auditorium, on Tuesday night. He will be joined by Bill Self of Kansas, Bruce Weber of Kansas State, Frank Haith of Missouri, and Gregg Marshall of Wichita State.
The coaches will visit with the media at 4:30 p.m. before participating in a VIP reception from 5:00-6:00 p.m. The main event will run from 6:00-8:00 p.m., hosted by Kevin Harlan.
2013 marks the 20th Anniversary of Coaches vs. Cancer, and a tribute to Virginia and Norm Stewart will take place for their contributions to the cause. The evening will also include a live auction, plus the main event live in the Municipal Auditorium Arena on its vintage wooden floor. The Arena Event features a silent auction, cocktails and gourmet arena food, and a powerful conversation with the area’s top college basketball coaches who will review their talent for the coming basketball season.
Ann and Steve Dunn are the UMKC honorary chairs for the event, while David Yost is the UMKC sponsorship lead.
