(Omaha, Neb.) - The Kansas City women's tennis squad finished the regular season Monday with a 7-0 romp over Omaha, securing the No. 2 seed in the Summit League Championships.
The 'Roos (10-13, 6-1 SL) jumped on the Mavericks (7-14, 2-5 SL) from the start, taking all three doubles matches for the 1-0 lead.
In singles UMKC quickly won four of the matches in straight sets, taking the No. 2, 3, 4 and 5 positions to make it 5-0. The 'Roos closed it out with third set tiebreak wins by Laura Bouet at No. 1 and Gabriela Pintos at No. 6.
The 'Roos will now face South Dakota State in the semifinal round of the Summit League Championships at 5:00 p.m. CT in Fort Wayne, Indiana on the campus of IPFW on April 26.
