(Des Moines, Iowa) - Kansas City women's tennis got a comeback performance at No. 4 from freshman Dimitra Stavrianakou to seal the first ever Kangaroo victory over Drake on Saturday afternoon, 4-3.

Stavrianakou battled back to tie her match at one set apiece, before winning in a third set tiebreak, 8-6 to win the dual for the 'Roos (1-2). After taking the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3, Kansas City went into singles play with the momentum. Drake (1-2) won the first singles match, but Kansas City got followed with wins at No. 1 from Laura Bouet and No. 2 by Eva Dalvai in straight sets, making it 3-1.

The Bulldogs won the next two matches very quickly after though, at No. 5 and 6 to tied it at three. The only match left playing was at No. 4, as Stavrianakou took down Evy Van Genechten, 4-6, 7-5, 7-6 (8-6).

Kansas City will open the home portion of their schedule on Friday when Southern Illinois-Edwardsville comes to town.
