Patino Finishes Weekend Perfect, Leads 'Roos at SIUE

(Edwardsville, Ill.) - Junior Tomas Patino led the Kansas City men's tennis team at the SIUE Invitational this weekend, winning his flight in both singles and doubles with partner Grant Fleming. The tournament was a round-robin format, with each player facing all the others in their flight throughout the weekend.

Patino was 4-0 in the third flight of singles action and went 3-0 with Fleming in the top flight for doubles. Also winning his flight was senior Tim Akhmedov, finishing the singles portion 4-0 in the No. 5 flight. He also went 1-0 in his lone doubles match, along with partner Andrey Smirnov.

Fleming played in the second flight for singles, and tallied a 3-1 mark, while newcomer Jai Grewal was 2-0 in the seventh flight.
