Prospective Student-Athletes Welcome and Overview:
Welcome prospective student-athletes to the Kangaroo family! SASSO functions to provide you with the necessary resources and support to academically succeed at UMKC and beyond.
The information on this website is intended to be informative and educational. You will find information regarding initial eligibility, admissions, financial aid, housing, and more. If you cannot find what you need, please contact SASSO or the Compliance Office, and a staff member will be more than willing to help you.
Our mission is to provide student-athletes with a well rounded and diverse education. The SASSO support unit has been designed to enhance the experience of the student-athlete in the university setting by fostering independence, educational and personal values and leadership skills. The SASSO staff will continue to be innovative in meeting the education, personal and professional needs of our student-athletes while upholding the academic integrity of the university and maintaining compliance with NCAA and UMKC regulations.
Initial Eligibility and NCAA Resources:
If you are planning to enroll at UMKC as freshmen and want to compete on a varsity athletic team, you must be certified by the NCAA Eligibility Center. Students should register with the NCAA Eligibility Center during their junior year of high school.
