In doubles action, sophomore Tomas Patino and freshman Conner Edwards got the 'Roos on the board first with an 8-0 win over Daniel Sweeney and Jesus Roman at No. 3. The No. 2 pairing of senior Gustavo Guerin and junior Abdulrahman Alawadhi then followed with an 8-3 win over Jim Capalbo and Andrew Yopp, while junior Grant Fleming and sophomore Cameron Schoenhofer took down Patrick Hammers and Ben Yue, 8-3 at No. 1.
In singles action, the Kangaroos continued to make quick work of the Leathernecks, as Schoenhofer beat Roman, 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6, Guerin defeated Sweeney, 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5 and junior Nino Hasandedic was victorious over Yopp at No. 4, 6-1, 6-0 to clinch the match for the 'Roos.
Patino then followed with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Yopp at No. 2 and Alwadhi knocked off Capalbo, 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3.
Fleming closed out the sweep for UMKC with a come from behind win over Hammers at No. 1, 1-6, 6-0, 10-1
The Blue & Gold will now enter the Summit League Championships at the Plaza Tennis center as the No. 1 seed where they will face South Dakota State on Friday at 2 p.m.
