In doubles action, the 'Roos jumped ahead in the match 1-0 when junior Abdulrahman Alawadhi and senior Gustavo Guerin defeated Pedro Moreno and Parker Allen, 8-2, at No. 2 and junior Grant Fleming and sophomore Cameron Schoenhofer took down Alvaro Gutierrez and Nathaniel Avery, 8-4 at No. 1.
In singles play, Guerin gave the 'Roos a 3-0 advantage with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Matthew Prevost at No. 5 before junior Nino Hasandedic's 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 4 secured the match for the 'Roos. Alawadhi then knocked off Moreno at No. 3, 6-3, 6-0 and Fleming took down Gutierrez, 7-5, 6-4 at No. 1 for the Kangaroos' sixth point of the afternoon. Sophomore Tomas Patino then rounded out the UMKC lineup with a 7-6 (7-2), 6-1 win over Allen at No. 2.
The Blue & Gold will be back in action again on Sunday when they close out the regular season on the road at Summit League foe Western Illinois at 10 a.m.
