The 'Roos opened up the day with doubles action, where the No. 3 pairing of sophomore Tomas Patino and freshman Conner Edwards downed Michael Morris and Cody McCarty, 8-3. The Wildcats, though, claimed the doubles point with an 8-4 win at No. 1 and a 9-7 win at No. 2. At the No. 1 line, Hans Hach and Nick Plum took down junior Grant Fleming and sophomore Cameron Schoenhofer, while at No. 2, Alfredo Desiati and Borja Cortes beat senior Gustavo Guerin and Abdul Alawadhi.
In singles action, Alawadhi claimed the 'Roos only victory and point with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 win over Morris at No. 5, while the 'Roos normal No. 2, Fleming, fell to Hach at No. 1, 6-2, 6-2. From the No. 2 position, Patino was defeated by Cortes, 6-3, 6-3 and from No. 4, Desiati won over Schoenhofer, 6-3, 6-2. Rounding out the UMKC lineup from the No. 6 line was Edwards who fell to McCarty, 6-2, 7-5.
The Blue & Gold will be back in action again next Monday when they head to Fayetteville, Ark., top take on Lamar at 2 p.m.
