2017-2018: Director of Ticketing
Chris Garcia serves as the Director of Ticking and joined the UMKC Staff in December of the 2017-18 school year after spending the last year and half at Oral Roberts University. In his role, Garcia oversees all ticket sales and ticket operations for the UMKC Athletic Department and assists in all sources of revenue generation and marketing initiatives for the department.
In his time at UMKC, Garcia has set a new record in overall ticket sales revenue from the previous year. He has increased women’s soccer ticket revenue by 188%, men’s soccer by 152% and volleyball has seen a 222% increase in revenue. Garcia also collaborated with the external team to restructure ticket pricing, donations for premium seating, adding new premium seating options and adding a fixed cost for season parking passes in order to generate additional revenue. As a result of these changes men’s basketball has seen a 148% increase in season ticket revenue and women’s basketball has seen a 378% increase in season ticket revenue from a season ago.
Prior to UMKC, Garcia served as the Director of Ticketing at Oral Roberts University. Garcia was responsible for supervising and leading all ticket sales and operations for all sports including Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball and Baseball. He also increased basketball season ticket sales by 20% which was the first increase in ticket sales since 2003. He increased group sales by 50% which was the second most group tickets in ORU basketball history. In addition, Garcia increased baseball season ticket sales by 40% which set a new record for the most baseball season tickets sold in a season.
Prior to Oral Roberts University, Garcia graduated from Wichita State University with both a Bachelors of Arts in Sport Management (2014) and a Master’s in Sport Management (2016). During his time at Wichita State, Garcia worked in Development and assisted in multiple fundraising campaigns.
Garcia is a member of NAATSO, NCAMA and a member of the Wichita State Sport Management Alumni Association.
