UMKC Matches School Record Win Total, Defeats Mavericks 6-1

(Kansas City, Mo.) - UMKC women's tennis matched its school record win total from a year ago on the way to a 6-1 win over future Summit League opponent Nebraska-Omaha on Friday morning, and also celebrated Senior Day.

The 'Roos (12-10) battled to win each of the doubles matches, with the duo of juniors Laura Bouet and Eva Dalvai taking an 8-5 win at No. 1, before a tiebreaker gave Suzan Lisenby and Amelie Amsallem a 9-8 (7-3) victory at No. 2, sealing the doubles point for the 'Roos, who would grab an 8-6 win at No. 3.

In singles play, the 'Roos finished the Mavericks (3-11) off pretty quickly, taking a straight set win at No. 6 by senior Jillian Yakominich (6-2, 6-2), followed by a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 4 by Maddie Schulte and a 6-4, 6-3 win by Lisenby at No. 5. Bouet made it 5-0 with a 6-4, 6-2 win at the No. 2 position.

UMKC heads to Arkansas for the final two duals in the regular season this weekend, facing UALR on Saturday at 10 a.m., before battling Central Arkansas on Sunday at 10 a.m.
