Cross Country Releases Meet Schedule Featuring First Appearance In The WAC Championship

(Kansas City, Mo.) – The Kansas City cross country team and head coach Shameika McField announced their 2013 schedule on Friday.  The ‘Roos, who will be entering their first season in the Western Athletic Conference, open the season with the Bob Timmons Classic in Lawrence, Kan., on Aug. 31.

From there, the Kangaroos will head north to Lincoln, Neb., for the Woody Greeno/Nebraska Invitational on the Sep. 21, before sending runners to South Bend, Ind., for the Adidas Notre Dame Invitational on Oct. 4 and the Rim Rock Classic in Lawrence on Oct. 5.

The ‘Roos will then close out October and the regular season with the Gary Stoner Invitational in Fayette, Mo., on Oct. 12 and the ISU NCAA Pre-Nationals in Terre Haute, Ind., on Oct. 19.

On Nov. 2, Kansas City will run for the first time at the WAC Championships in Seattle, Wash., before taking part in the NCAA Midwest Regional in Ames, Iowa, on Nov. 15.

The following week, any ‘Roo qualifier will run in the NCAA Championship on Nov. 23 in Terre Haute.
