KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The UMKC track & field teams continued their 2018 outdoor season this weekend when they competed in the weather shortened K.T. Woodman Classic in Wichita, Kan.
In the jumps, Traci Mills won her section in both the triple jump and long jump with marks of 11.62 meters and 5.69 meters, respectively. Leyla Edwards added a fourth in the triple jump (11.00m) and fifth in the long jump (5.10m), while Jayla Riggins finished third in the long jump (5.18m).
On the men’s side, Jeremy Harr won his section of the long jump at 6.61 meters and finished second in the triple jump at 13.98 meters, while Terrence Williams placed second in the long jump at 6.16 meters and third in the triple jump at 12.67 meters. In the other section, Christopher Bryan placed third in the long jump with a mark of 6.92 meters.
In the throws, Perry Adderley came in second in the shot put (15.21m) and discus (44.84m), while Carter Grissom placed third in the javelin at 61.83 meters and Jacob Hockman finished third in the discus at 44.39 meters.
In the 1,500 meter run, meanwhile, Elizabeth Nolke placed second with a time of 4:39.90 and Katherine Hanners placed fifth with a time of 4:50.05, while Darrien Case finished fourth for the men at 4:02.05.
The Blue & Gold will be back in action again on Apr. 19-21 when they head to Lawrence, Kan., for the 91st Kansas Relays presented by RCB Bank.
