UMKC Closes out Price's “Give 'Em 5” Invitational in Fifth Place

EL PASO, Texas. – The UMKC men’s golf team climbed another spot in the final round of the Price’s “Give ‘Em 5” Invitational at the Butterfield Trail Golf Course, finishing in fifth, just one shot behind Texas State.

Taylor Larsen (Garden City, Kan.) led the team in the event, placing in a tie for 14th after a final round 69 that featured five birdies including back-to-back on both Nos. 6 and 7 and Nos. 12 and 13.

Paul Foulquie (Paris, France) finished one shot back of Larsen in a tie for 17th at +3 after birdieing four par-4’s, two each on both the front and back nine.

Francois Lagraulet (Bordeaux, France) was the Roos third top-20 finisher, placing in a tie for 19th at +4 with birdies on the par-5 6th and the par-4 14th. 

McCain Schellhardt (Edmond, Okla.) tied for 27th in the tournament with a final round 73, highlighted by an eagle on the par-4 No. 15.

Sam Humphreys (Edmond, Okla.), meanwhile, tied for 41st after shooting a final round 74 with back-to-back birdies on No. 18 and No. 1.

Playing as an individual, Jack Hermeston (Newcastle, England) tied for 76th after a final round 76 that featured a trio of birdies.

Host UTEP claimed the team title by 10 shots over Marquette, while Marquette’s Hunter Eichhorn was the individual medalist at -9.
