LINCOLN, Neb. – The UMKC track and field team will send a group to the Nebraska Tune-Up on Friday for the final outing of the indoor regular season.

A total of 20 women and 18 men are projected to compete in 13 different individual events for the Roos at the meet. Three UMKC student-athletes – Jayla Riggins (St. Louis, Mo.), Blessing Oparaji (St. Louis, Mo.) and Shermane Foster (St. Louis, Mo.) – will be the busiest, competing in three events apiece.

Five different Roos hold the top spot in their respective individual events, including Chadayne Walker (Portmore, Jamaica) in the men’s 60-meter dash, Bryce Miller (Ashland, Wis.) in the men’s one-mile run, Sarah Fogarty (O’Fallon, Mo.) in the women’s 3000-meter run, Alex Gutierrez (Glendale, Ariz.) in the men’s high jump and Richard Smith (Kansas City, Mo.) in the men’s triple jump. Both the men’s and women’s 4x400-meter relay teams also hold the top time in the conference.

The Roos will be back in action at the Western Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships in Nampa, Idaho, on Feb. 23-25.
