“We are excited to have Coralie join our ‘Roo Family,” Broderick said. “She brings enthusiasm for the game of golf and an internal drive to be a great player in college. Coralie will add a great dynamic to our program, and with the continued experience and exposure to great training, her opportunities here at UMKC are endless. She represents the type of student-athlete we are looking for, and we are all excited to see what she can accomplish during her time as a Kangaroo.”
Bretez joins the Kangaroos out of Lycee Jean Dautet in La Rochelle, France, becoming the first international signing during Broderick’s tenure.
During her prep career, she has been a seven-year member of the Golf de la Rochelle women’s team and a six-time participant in the French Youth Championships, two-times finishing with a low round of 69, while finishing as a semifinalist at the 17-under French Championships in 2008 and as a finalist in 2012.
In 2013, Bretez claimed a trio of titles, taking home medalist honors at the Grand Prix Ligue Poitou Charentes, the Grand Prix La Rochelle and the Grand Prix de Poitiers Mignaloux, while adding a runner-up finish at the Grand Prix de la Ville de Royan and third place finishes at the Grand Prix du Medoc and the Derby de La Baule. In 2012, meanwhile, she claimed the title at the XIV eme Grand Prix de Niort.
Bretez joins Jordan Rehkow to form the ‘Roos two person recruiting class from the class of 2014.
