The Kansas City softball team was forced to cancel its Tuesday doubleheader at the University of Nebraska-Omaha after flight cancellations prolonged the team's stay in Phoenix, Ariz.

The 'Roos were scheduled to depart the desert following their 4-2 victory over Grand Canyon on Saturday, but the team's Southwest flight was cancelled late that evening. The team was not able to leave Phoenix until Tuesday morning -- creating a logistical impossibility of playing the Mavericks.

UMKC will return to action on Friday when it hosts New Mexico State at the Missouri 3&2 Complex in Kansas City, Mo.
