(Kansas City, Mo.) – UMKC Women's golf coach Brianna Broderick didn't have to look far to sign her first recruit for the class of 2014.  Jordan Rehkow, a four-time Suburban 6 all conference performer from Blue Springs South has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the ‘Roos in fall 2014.

“We are excited to have Jordan join our ‘Roo family as she is a dedicated young lady who likes to work hard and play hard,” Broderick said.  “She will be an excellent representation of what UMKC women’s golf is all about.”

Rehkow led the Jaguars to three consecutive Suburban 6 league titles, as well as qualified three times for the Missouri Girls State High School Championship.  During the 2013 fall high school season, Rehkow won the Missouri Girls Sectional at Drumm Farm in Kansas City.  In addition, Rehknow won the Truman Invitational while setting a school 18-hole record with a score of 71.

The three-time Missouri all-district golfer's game took a definite turn for the better in the summer of 2013 when she led the points list for the Collegiate Recruits Tour Series, winning once and finishing second twice in the four tournament series.  She also had two runner-up finishes in Midwest Junior Tour events and finished second on the 2013 Tour point list.

Jordan comes from a very competitive family as she is the grand-daughter of Kansas City Royal's Hall of Famer, Fred Patek.

The Blue & Gold will be back in action again on Mar. 7 when they head to Rio Verde, Ariz., to open their spring season at the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational.
