(Kansas City, Mo.)  – The Kansas City men’s golf team closed out the ULM/Wallace Jones Invitational in second place, three shots back of Sam Houston State, to record their second best finish of the season at the Southern Pines Golf Club in Calhoun, La.

Junior Nathan Hughes led the ‘Roos in the event, finishing fourth at +5 with a pair of birdies in the final round, while freshman Antoine Rozner placed 12th at +11, also notching two final round birdies.

Junior Jack Fiscus was the ‘Roos next lowest finisher, carding five birdies in the final round to finish at +16, while Korbin Kuehn tied for the ‘Roos lowest round of the day, shooting a final round 74 to tie for 41st.

Junior Cole Chelle, meanwhile, rounded out the Kansas City lineup in a tie for 45th.

Sam Houston State claimed the team title, while Bearkat’s Albert Miner won in a playoff after shooting even par on the fourth playoff hole to beat Oklahoma State's Sam Lee and Brad Gehl.

The Blue & Gold will be back in action again in two weeks when they head to Keller, Texas, to take part in The Summit League Championship on Apr. 22-24 at the Sky Creek Ranch Golf Club.
