(Kansas City, Mo.) - The Saint Louis women's tennis squad took an early lead and never looked back in a 6-1 win over Kansas City on Friday afternoon at the Plaza Tennis Center.
The Billikens (10-6) won doubles points and the No. 2 and 3 positions by identical 8-4 scores to seal the point, while UMKC (8-13) was up 7-5 in the doubles match at No. 1.
The lone winner in singles play for the 'Roos was freshman Dimitra Stavrianakou at the No. 2 spot, taking the victory in straight sets and cutting the overall score to 3-1. SLU won the remaining matches, despite three-set battles from Maddie Schulte and Amelie Amsallem at No. 4 and No. 6.
