(Kansas City, Mo.) - Kansas City women's basketball junior guard Eilise O'Connor nabbed her second Summit League Player of the Week honor of the season after helping a the 'Roos to a 1-1 record last week with a win over Fort Wayne, their second win in their last three contests.
O'Connor earns her second Player of the Week award this season after scoring a career-high 34 points in a win over Fort Wayne. In addition to her 34 points, she grabbed seven rebounds and connected on a school record 17 free throws. On Thursday, the junior guard scored 26 points with eight rebounds and three steals against Oakland. For the week, O'Connor averaged 30 points, 7.5 rebounds, two steals and one assist per game. She went 26-of-27 (.963) from the free throw line and 16-of-31 (.516) from the field in the two contests. With her 30 points per game average, O'Connor nearly doubled her averaged of 15.5 points coming into the week.
The San Francisco, Calif., native brings home the fourth player of the week honor for the 'Roos this season, as seniors Kim Nezianya and Emile Blakesley each garnered the recognition earlier this season.
The Blue & Gold will be back in action again on Thursday when the head to Indianapolis, Ind., to take on IUPUI in a Summit League contest at 6 p.m. CT in The Jungle.
