(Kansas City, Mo.) - The UMKC men's basketball program announced that Kansas City product T.J. White will wear the Blue & Gold next season as a Kangaroo.
"We welcome T.J. as the newest member of our Kangaroo basketball family." UMKC Head Coach Matt Brown said, "He came from a very successful junior college program and we like how he will complement our returning players. Being from Kansas City, it will mean a great deal to him and his family to be able to wear a UMKC uniform."

White, a product of O'Hara High School, currently plays at Moberly Area Community College for head coach Pat Smith... As a freshman there in 2011-12, he averaged 6.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.0 steals per game... The Greyhounds finished 17-3 in the final 20 games with White in the lineup... Through six games this season (sophomore), he has led the squad to a 6-0 mark, averaging 9.2 points and 5.8 rebounds per game... Called a defensive stopper and a winner by his coaches at MACC... In one game already this season, he posted 15 points, 10 steals, and 8 rebounds... He played for head coach Todd Magwire at O'Hara High School... Led the Celtics to an 18-6 record as a senior, averaging 16.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game... He earned first-team all-district and all-conference honors that season as well... As a junior he helped the squad to a 21-5 overall record.
