KANSAS CITY, Mo. – UMKC volleyball (18-8, 9-3) will look to regain first place in the WAC standings when they welcome Utah Valley (14-11, 6-6) and Seattle U (9-16, 2-10) to the Swinney Recreation Center. The match with the Wolverines is slated for 7 p.m. CT on Nov. 8, while the match with the Redhawks is Senior Day and will start at 1 p.m. CT.
About the Roos
UMKC enters the match with a 18-8 record overall and a 9-3 mark in WAC play. This season, the Roos have picked up WAC wins over CSU Bakersfield (x2), Utah Valley, California Baptist (x2), Chicago State, Seattle U and Grand Canyon (x2). On the year, UMKC has garnered four WAC Player of the Week awards, as Tyrecia Lukes (x2) and Melanie Brecka garnered offensive honors and Alex Ratzlaff was awarded the defensive honor. The 18 wins, meanwhile, are the third most in program history.
Utah Valley enters the match with a 14-11 record overall and a 6-6 mark in WAC play, good for a fifth place standing in the conference. Earlier this season, the Roos beat the Wolverines, 3-2, in Orem, Utah, on Sep. 22.
Seattle U, meanwhile, comes into the weekend with a record of 9-16 overall and 2-10 in the conference, to place them eight. On Oct. 13, the Roos swept the Redhawks in Seattle, 3-0.
The Blue & Gold will hit the road for the final week of the season when they head to Las Cruces, N.M., on Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. CT and Edinburg, Texas, on Nov. 17 at 12 p.m. CT with WAC regular season title on the line.
