Roos Open Outdoor Season at ESU Spring Twilight Invitational

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The UMKC track & field teams open up the 2018 outdoor season when they head to Emporia, Kan., for the ESU Spring Twilight Invitational on Mar. 16 at the Zola Witten Track in Frank Welch Stadium.

On the day, field events get underway at 12 p.m. CT, while running events start an hour later at 1 p.m. CT.

Last year in the event, Elizabeth Nolke and Daylan Quinn each won the steeplechase for the women and men, respectively.

During the indoor season, the Roo men finished second in the WAC behind Grand Canyon, while the women’s squad placed fourth. 

Christopher Bryan led the way for the Roos in the meet winning both the triple jump and the long jump, while finishing second in the 60-meter hurdles, winning him the High Point Award in the event.

The Blue & Gold will be back in action again on Mar. 31 when they head to Tulsa, Okla., for the ORU Invitational.
