KANSAS CITY, Mo. – UMKC women’s tennis (5-4) will host Akron (6-5) on Feb. 24 at the Kansas City Racquet Club before heading east to Columbia, Mo., for a match with Missouri (10-1) on Feb. 25.

The Roos return to action this weekend when they host Akron on Saturday before heading to Columbia on Sunday to take on Missouri.

 

Last week, the Roos picked up a 4-3 win over South Dakota, claiming the doubles point as well as singles wins from Aliona Ladutska at No. 1, Melinda Johnson at No. 3 and Yana Grechkina at No. 4.

 

Akron enters the weekend with a 6-5 mark on the season and will face Kansas State before taking on the Roos.  This year, the Zips have knocked-off Detroit, St. Bonaventure, Niagara, Utah State, Walsh and East Tennessee State.

 

Missouri currently holds a 10-1 record on the year with wins over Southeast Missouri State, Central Arkansas, Cornell, Army, Binghamton, Radford, Tulane, South Dakota State, Minnesota and Memphis and will face Wichita State and Kansas State before taking on the Roos.

 

Up Next: The Blue & Gold will head to Lincoln, Neb., on Mar. 2 for a watch with Nebraska and a match with Illinois State on Mar. 3.
