KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The UMKC track & field teams are set to take part in the 2018 WAC Indoor Track & Field Championships in Nampa, Idaho, at the Ford Idaho Center on Feb. 22-24.
In a vote by the conference’s head coaches, the Roos were picked to finish fourth on the women’s side and third on the men’s side.
Last season, the Roos claimed the team titles on both the men’s and women’s side, while finishing second during the indoor season.
The meet kicks-off on Thursday with the multis at 12 p.m. CT, while Friday starts off at 11 a.m. CT with the conclusion of the multis. Field events begin on Friday at 12 p.m. CT, while track events begin at 3 p.m. CT. On Saturday, meanwhile, the field events conclude starting at 10 a.m. CT, while the track event finals begin on Saturday at 2 p.m. CT and finish with the 4x400 meter relays at 5:10 p.m. CT.
Heading into the event, Chadayne Walker tops the conference in the 60 meter dash, Darrien Case has the top time in the 800 meter run, Christopher Bryan has the top mark in the long jump and the triple jump and Daiwa Emmert has the top score in the pentathlon, while Genel Rollins is second in the 200 meter dash, Mia Jerman is second in the mile, Quinlan Moll is second in the 5,000 meter run and Bryan is second in the 60 meter hurdles.
