Cross Country Continues Slate at Rim Rock Classic Saturday

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The UMKC men’s and women’s cross country teams will continue the 2017 campaign on Saturday at the Rim Rock Classic, hosted by the University of Kansas, at Rim Rock Farm.

The women’s 6-kilometer race is slated to begin at 9 a.m. CT, while the men’s 8-kilometer run is scheduled for a 10 a.m. CT start time. Live results will be available for fans that are unable to attend the meet.

Six Roos – Sarah Fogarty (O’Fallon, Mo.), Chandler Carreon (Lake St. Louis, Mo.), Mia Jerman (Ste. Genevieve, Mo.), Katherine Hanners (Jackson, Mo.), Megan Mills (Nixa, Mo.) and Elizabeth Nolke (Lee’s Summit, Mo.) – will battle for UMKC on the women’s side. The last outing at Rim Rock Farm, Fogarty finished first among 23 competitors with a personal best time in the 5K event to lead the Roos.

On the men’s side, seniors Nathan Keown (Columbia, Mo.), Jason Fambrough (Raymore, Mo.), Quinlan Moll (Springfield, Mo.) and Jackson Barbour (Shawnee, Kan.) will look to pace the Roos in UMKC’s second meet of the season. The quartet will be joined on the course by teammates Marcus Johnson (Nixa, Mo.), Darrien Case (Parkville, Mo.), Daylan Quinn (Mountain View, Mo.), Lachlan Moore (Nixa, Mo.) and Josh Sanders (Maryville, Mo.).

After tomorrow’s race, the Roos will take two weeks off from competition to gear up for the 2017 NCAA Division I Pre-Nationals Invitational, hosted by Louisville, on Oct. 14.
