LAWRENCE, Kansas – Due to anticipated inclement weather in the area this weekend, the UMKC track and field team will conclude its regular season at the Rock Chalk Classic on Friday. The meet was originally scheduled for Saturday, but has been moved in an attempt to avoid projected bad weather.

The Roos will begin competition in the field at 2 p.m. CT with the men's hammer throw, while running events are slated to begin at approximately 5:08 p.m. CT with the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase.

UMKC will compete alongside host Kansas, Missouri State and Oral Roberts in 18 total events. The only event that the Roos will go without representation in is the 4x100-meter relay. A total of 22 student-athletes will compete for the men's team, while 29 Roos will battle on the women's side.

UMKC returns four Western Athletic Conference individual champions, eight first team all-conference performers and 13 second team All-WAC honorees from last season.

The Roos will open the WAC Outdoor Track and Field Champions in McAllen, Texas, on May 11.
