Track and Field Set for Emporia State Relays

EMPORIA, Kan. – For the second time this season, the UMKC track and field team will compete at Emporia State on Saturday. It is projected that nearly 1,100 student-athletes from 31 schools, including 56 student-athletes from UMKC, will be competing at the ESU Relays.

Field events are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. CT with the women’s hammer throw, men’s javelin and men’s discus. Running events are set to begin with the women’s 3,000-meter run at 11:30 a.m. CT.

Genel Rollins (St. Louis, Mo.) is expected to compete in a team-high six events on the women’s side, while Christopher Bryan (St. Catherine, Jamaica), Traezon Henderson (Gardner, Kan.) and Chadayne Walker (Portmore, Jamaica) will battle in six events for the men.

UMKC returns four Western Athletic Conference individual champions, eight first team all-conference performers and 13 second team All-WAC honorees from last season.

The Roos will continue the outdoor slate at the Husker Spring Invite in Lincoln, Neb., on April 8.
