Several members of the UMKC volleyball team joined forces with AmericaCorps and KindCraft for a community service project to help put together boxes of food at Harvesters for those in need in the Kansas City area last Friday.

UMKC volleyball head coach Christi Posey announced the addition of four college transfers and two high school seniors to be added to the volleyball program for the 2017 season.

The UMKC volleyball team will begin its spring exhibition schedule on April 5 against in-town rival Rockhurst at 3 p.m. CT in the first of six games set to be played by the Roos at Swinney Recreation Center.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – 2016 All-WAC First-Team honorees Emma Hagedorn (Parkville, Mo.) and Madison Mosier (Lee's Summit, Mo.) each tallied 21 kills and WAC Setter of the Year Kaylyn Brandt (Sumner, Iowa) notched a career-high 70 assists, leaving it all on the court for their final Western Athletic Conference Tournament, but their efforts weren't enough as No. 4 UMKC volleyball lost a five-set heartbreaker to No. 5 UT Rio Grande Valley.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The 2016 Western Athletic Conference volleyball award winners, as selected by the league's eight head coaches, were announced at the WAC Tournament banquet. KANSAS CITY, Mo. – After finishing the regular season with a 15-12 record and posting an 8-6 mark in Western Athletic Conference play, UMKC volleyball headed to Las Cruces, New Mexico, in search of a conference tournament title and an automatic qualifying bid into the NCAA Tournament.

UMKC volleyball (15-12, 8-6 WAC) fell 3-0 to New Mexico State (23-6, 13-1 WAC) on Saturday afternoon at Swinney Recreation Center. The Aggies claimed the first two sets, 25-19, and held on for a 25-22 third set victory despite a resilient Roos squad that fought until the end.
