Nineteen current and former UMKC men's basketball players are playing at the KC Pro Am this summer in Kansas City.

Kansas City, Mo. -- Nineteen current and former members of the UMKC men's basketball program are competing in the Kansas City Pro Am this summer at Penn Valley Community College in Kansas City. The 12-team league featuring professional and collegiate players began competition on June 20, and it will run through the end of July.

Eleven current UMKC players will be playing on five separate teams for the remainder of the summer. Sophomores Spencer Johnson and James Humphrey team-up to compete for team Double Dogg, while playing alongside former Kangaroo Robbie Graves. Jay Couisnard, a transfer from Evansville University, will play with incoming freshman Femi Akinpetide and former UMKC great Michael Jackson. The trio will compete for the Hawks.

Senior Dane Brumagin, sophomore Reggie Hamilton and freshman Dustin Dibble will team with former Kangaroo student-athletes Akeem Hemingway and Dominique Johnson, who recently signed a National Letter of Intent with North Texas. All five players will play for the Distinguished Gentleman.

Three UMKC newcomers - Fred Ford, Daniel Brady and Latreze Mushatt - will all suit up for Moon Wolf Productions, while fellow incoming freshman - Trey McKinney-Jones - will be the lone Kangaroo competing for team Holmes.

Meanwhile, former Kangaroos Brad Mann (Livin the Dream), Michael Watson (Team Lue), Vinson Smith (Wolves Klub) and Quinton Day (Fadeaway) will also compete in the league. Day will play for reigning KC Pro-Am champion, team Fadeaway.
