Kansas City, Mo. -- The UMKC women's basketball team tipped off the summer camp season last
week, as better than 50 campers descended upon Swinney Recreation
Center for the first of several sports camps offered by UMKC
Athletics. Head coach Candace Whitaker and her camp staff put the
campers through the paces. Men's basketball keeps things rolling, as
head coach Matt Brown and his staff began their first camp of the
season at 9 a.m. Monday.
In addition to the camps already completed and underway, there are still plenty of opportunities to learn from the Kangaroos throughout the summer. Men's basketball will offer a second skills camp July 14-18 following on the heels of a busy week at Swinney Rec Center, as volleyball and men's soccer will both be hosting camps the week of July 6-10.
Men's soccer head coach Rick Benben will offer the first of two week-long residential camps July 6-10, with volleyball head coach Geno Frugoli offering one-day skills camps on July 7 and 8, with a two-day Elite Skills camp on July 9-10.
More information and registration brochures for each camp are available via the "Camps" menu at umkckangaroos.com.
